William was interested in becoming a veterinarian since the third grade. As a child his parents fed his inspiration with animals by allowing him to care for their pet birds. By the time William reached middle school he provided care to 22 birds. Then in his senior year of high school William rescued and adopted a 4-year-old Yorkshire Terrier named Max.
